As a true industry veteran, Kovalev has won numerous light-heavyweight world titles. From 2014 to 2016 he held the crowns from the WBA and IBF and from 2013 to 2019 he won three times from the WBO. He faced boxing great Canelo Alvarez in November 2019, but was knocked out in the eleventh round.
He has only fought once since in May 2022, when he unanimously defeated Tervel Pulev.
