American professional boxer Deontay Leshun Wilder (born October 22, 1985) is a fighter. He successfully defended the WBC heavyweight championship ten times between 2015 and 2020. After losing the title in 2007, boxing history’s longest stretch without an American heavyweight champion, Wilder went on to win the belt and become the first American world heavyweight champion. In April 2023, The Ring magazine, ESPN, the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board, and BoxRec ranked him as the third-best active heavyweight in the world.
